Irish duo Bicurious are Gavin Purcell and Taran Plouzané; a confused, loud, energetic, experimental riff-rock act from Dublin, Ireland and Brest, France.
The band are best known for riff sing-alongs, grooves that open up mosh pits and get heads banging, as well as the undeniable chemistry between the two remarkable musicians.
It’s not the first time we’ve had either Irish or French acts over to the Pump. Back in January you’ll remember Sketchbook Records brought French duo PNEU over the water, for a memorable in-around show, without stage, PA or lights? The resulting experience was quite frankly bewildering.
Last October we had Irish emo-rock band PARKER also make the trip over on their criss cross UK tour!
This time we’re celebrating both nations in one band with BICURIOUS. The bands angular post-rock come experimental mathy indie rock, will be familiar with fans of ASIWYFA, Alpha Male Tea Party, You Slut!, runWALK! and many such acts you’d expect to be propping up ArcTanGent Festival.
This however is the bands 2000 Trees Festival warm up. We’ve taken the opportunity to grab the band whilst they’re moderately local to give Trowbridge something to remember.
Main support is South Gloucester band CHASING DOLLS.
Having been picked up by Sketch Book Records and previously been given many gigs by us in Trowbridge and beyond, the bands live reputation has swollen to preposterous sizes. Their live show is a joy of mathy energy. We’ve watched this band develop over time, and we couldn’t be prouder of the band that they’ve become.
