If you caught Palm Readers incendiary set at 2017’s 2000 Trees festival, then it won’t have escaped your notice how freakin’ good their live show it.

Announced on the day of their performance, as late minute stand in guests to Slotface, the Nottingham based band had a tough act to follow to a crowd who largely didn’t know they were playing! On this occasion Social Media didn’t really help as the festival site has such poor 3G & wifi coverage.

At any rate, they got up and absolutely SMASHED it. A genuine surprise band for me, as I had them down as a proto-type metal band thing, and wasn’t really interested, yet their live show was punk as f*ck. Raw, fast and plenty of energy, I’m confident they created a lot of new fans that day, and I guess that’s what it’s all about.

So impressed was I that I decided to book them for Level III in Swindon, to continue our rich vein of shows we’ve been having this year. Certainly heavier than the pop-punk gigs I’ve been doing, but no less visually exciting and capable of whipping a crowd into a frenzy.

Since we don’t typically do that many heavy shows, it’s nice to finally give the heavier crowd something to get excited about, and it’s nice to finally give Julian Gage & his band HERIOT a gig too. Julian is a chap who has been knocking around the Swindon scene for some time. I remember giving his early band (Tides of Change iirc) a gig wayyyy back, or doing their sound or something, when he was like 12, and thinking that if they’re that good now… We all know what happened to Jake, who went on to form Mort de la Mere & then All Ears Avow, but now I’m able to give HERIOT a huge local show and have them in main support and feel confident they’ll do more than a great job at representing Swindon.

Opening the show is Devizes based HOMELAND, who have already racked up the road miles supporting Palm Reader in Plymouth a couple of years ago. They’ve had a frustrating time of it stalling on one release or another for some time now as the line up has finally settled and the recording done, they’re back & ready to perform their version of melodic, atmospheric hardcore.

Continuing our regular pricing, the tickets are available from 9am this morning, priced £7 advance from WeGotTickets or SeeTickets, or direct from venue (Once we’ve had them printed) or £10 on the door.
